ADDA

ADDA is a zine that explores practices of organising and interdependence – in what ways do we support others, and are supported in return? How do the relationships in our lives – the people who love us and hold us up – play a role in who we are and the work we do?

Each issue is its own conversation exploring these questions. Named after the Bengali word আড্ডা (adda) meaning a casual gathering with loved ones, the conversations flow and meander, with awkward pauses or moments of tension or changes in direction, emulating the slowness and intimacy of an adda session.

This first issue features British-Bangladeshi artists Puer Deorum and Jannat Hussain, reflecting on their artistic practices, their friendship and collaborations, and their organising work, particularly for the Bengali community in London.
